Unit Operations Guidelines
Access the full length copy: 2010-2011 Operations Guide.
Message from the Dean:
This guide consolidates the overall University’s and College of Education policies and procedures to facilitate awareness of the many and significant changes to practice introduced and implemented in 2010 and 2011. The manual represents an organized effort to assemble in one place the basic information needed for the operation of the College of Education. The College functions as an integral part of the University. In an effort to avoid redundancy and duplication of policies located elsewhere within the University community, this manual includes only those policies and procedures that are specifically related to the operation of the College. In this regard, the policies and procedures governing the operations of the College of Education are both those which govern its operation within the context of the University and those which speak specifically to it.
Over the years the College of Education has re-organized itself and made policies and procedures to fit the needs of the time and to enhance the culture and performance of the Unit. Today the volume of information concerning policies and procedures for managing the multiple areas of the Unit needs to be organized so faculty, administrators, and staff have the proper information to do their best work. When a member of the faculty asks, “Do we have a procedure or policy on … ?” this guide should facilitate finding the information that is needed.
This guide is available in both hard copy and web-based formats. However, it is recommended that faculty and staff refer to the web version of the Operations Guide whenever possible to ensure they have access to the most up to date information. The web version also contains live links to Spalding University’s relevant regulations, policies and procedures for more detailed information. This guide will be updated annually to ensure any relevant policy changes are integrated into the next edition.
